Fatih Donmez: Turkey might participate in implementation of green energy concept in Karabakh

DECEMBER 23, 2021

"We will continue to stand by Azerbaijan with both our public and private sectors within the "Green Energy Concept" planned to be implemented in the liberated territories," Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Fatih Donmez said at the opening of the First Azerbaijan-Turkey Energy Forum, Report informs.

Drawing attention to Azerbaijan's victory in the Patriotic War, the minister said: "We will continue to stand by Azerbaijan with both our public and private sectors within the "Green Energy Concept" planned to be implemented in the liberated territories. In this way, we will continue to work in coordination with Azerbaijan to establish lasting peace in the region and rebuild the liberated areas. I believe that the transfer of many successful experiences of our joint cooperation in the hydrocarbon industry to the renewable energy sector will give a new impetus to our relations."

According to him, the successful cooperation so far gives great impetus to diversify and assess new opportunities: "In the spirit of exemplary cooperation with major infrastructure projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (BTE), Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP), we have made significant contributions to the security of energy supply in our region and Europe. Last year, my dear colleague Parviz Shahbazov and I signed a memorandum of understanding for the Igdir-Nakhchivan natural gas pipeline. We plan to build this pipeline as soon as possible after the technical details are resolved. In recent months, we signed an agreement on future natural gas from the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum line. I want to emphasize once again that we are very pleased with this agreement."
