EU4Environment Action in Azerbaijan “Circular Economy and New Growth Opportunities”

I have the pleasure to invite you to the kick-off stakeholders meeting on Industrial Waste Mapping activities under the EU4Environment Action in Azerbaijan. The online event will take place on Tuesday, 16 November 2021, from 15:00 (Baku time) (12:00 CET) online, via the Zoom platform.

The purpose of this event is toraise awareness among the participants and key stakeholders on the “Circular Economy and New Growth Opportunities” Component of the “EU4Environment” Action in Azerbaijan and to showcase its benefits; to discuss new opportunities related to Circular Economy in Azerbaijan (industrial waste mapping as a means to improve waste management); to present the findings from the report on the selection of the pilot regions and enterprises, and; to present the methodology and work plan for industrial waste mapping activities.

The participants will include relevant governmental institutions, local authorities, academia, the private sector and NGOs in Azerbaijan, UNIDO members, and other international organizations. The event is open to all stakeholders interested in and related to the issues of green growth, circular economy, resource efficiency, industrial development, and environmental protection.

The event is organized as part of the regional EU-funded, “EU4Environment” Action that helps the six Eastern Partner countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine – to preserve and better use their natural capital, increase people's environmental well-being and stimulate economic growth. The Action is implemented by five international partners: OECD, UNIDO, UNEP, UNECE, and the World Bank.
