In January-September 2026, a total of 29.7308 billion cubic meters of gas was transported through Azerbaijan’s main gas pipelines.
The figure represents a 0.3% decrease compared with the same period of 2025.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus Pipeline accounted for 56.7% of the total gas transported during the reporting period, carrying 16.8626 billion cubic meters of gas.
The South Caucasus Pipeline transports gas produced from the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field in Azerbaijan’s sector of the Caspian Sea to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye.
The pipeline was commissioned at the end of 2006, initially transporting gas produced during Phase 1 of the Shah Deniz field development. Since summer 2018, gas produced under Phase 2 of the field has been transported through the expanded South Caucasus Pipeline to Türkiye and subsequently delivered into the TANAP system.
