In January–August 2026, wind farms in Azerbaijan generated 726.7 million kWh of electricity, according to the State Statistics Committee, as reported by Report. This marks a 21.8‑fold increase compared with the same period in 2025.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan's total electricity generation amounted to 17.887 billion kWh, down 2.4% year‑on‑year. Commercial electricity accounted for 17.376 billion kWh of this total, a decrease of 1.9%.
Hydropower plants contributed 2.498 billion kWh (up 10.7%), thermal power plants produced 13.549 billion kWh (down 8.8%), and biomass and waste generated 154.9 million kWh (up 5.6%).
Solar power plants produced 446.2 million kWh during the period, representing a 9.4% increase over January–August 2025.
