Azerbaijan and Vietnam discussed the implementation of wind and solar energy projects in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said in a post on X, according to Report.
The issues were discussed during his meeting with Pham Minh Tuan, CEO of Vietnamese company ROX Energy Global.
"We discussed with Pham Minh Tuan, CEO of Vietnam's ROX Energy Global, the progress on the 200 MW wind power project and opportunities for developing a solar power project in Nakhchivan. We exchanged views on the prospects for new projects in the context of strengthening Nakhchivan's power system, establishing an electricity interconnection with Türkiye, and exporting green energy to the Turkish market," Parviz Shahbazov said.
In July last year, the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy and Vietnamese company ROX Energy Global signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in renewable energy.
The document was signed as part of the 1st Azerbaijan‑Vietnam Business Council and Business Forum and provides for cooperation in energy storage systems, off‑grid and grid‑connected solar energy systems, onshore and offshore wind energy, as well as hydrogen and ammonia production.
