Azerbaijan and China expanding exchange of experience in energy sector

A delegation of representatives from Azerbaijan's energy sector is taking part in a special training and technical visit programme in China, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Energy.

China's Datang Corporation has organised a two‑week training and technical visit programme for Azerbaijani energy sector specialists. The programme aims to further develop energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and China, facilitate the exchange of experience in advanced technologies, and expand professional ties.

Speaking via video link at the opening of the training programme, Azerbaijani Deputy Energy Minister Elnur Soltanov emphasised its importance for the development of Azerbaijan‑China energy cooperation.

Li Deyong, Deputy General Manager of Datang Corporation, welcomed the training participants and wished them success in implementing the programme.

As part of the programme, participants are watching presentations and receiving practical information on wind and hydrogen energy, advanced energy storage systems – including compressed air energy storage (CAES), integrated wind‑solar‑energy storage systems, modern high‑efficiency gas turbines, conventional hydropower plants, and pumped‑storage hydropower plants.

An important part of the visit programme includes technical visits to advanced industrial and energy projects in Chengdu and Chongqing. During these visits, Azerbaijani representatives are gaining first‑hand experience in the application, operation, and integration of modern energy technologies into energy systems.

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources, Azerenerji OJSC, and Azerishiq OJSC are participating in the visit.
