Between August 1, 2021 and August 1, 2026, a total of 130.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas was transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP).
This was reported by the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) to Report.
According to the company, today marks the fifth anniversary of SOCAR assuming the role of the SCP's technical operator.
During the first half of 2026, a total of 11.4422 billion cubic meters of gas was transported through the pipeline, representing a 1.84% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
It should be noted that SOCAR Midstream Gas Operations LLC has served as the commercial operator of the South Caucasus Pipeline since 2015 and has been its technical operator since 2021.
The South Caucasus Pipeline transports natural gas produced from the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye. The pipeline was commissioned at the end of 2006, when transportation of gas produced under the first phase of the Shah Deniz development began. Since the summer of 2018, gas produced under the second phase of the Shah Deniz project has been delivered to Türkiye via the expanded South Caucasus Pipeline and transferred to the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP).
