A total of 99.6 billion cubic metres of Azerbaijani gas have been transported through the Trans‑Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) since it became operational, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Energy.
It was noted that 39.6 billion cubic metres of this volume were exported to Türkiye.
Today marks the 8th anniversary of the start of commercial gas deliveries from Azerbaijan to Türkiye via TANAP under the Shah Deniz‑2 project. As a key part of the Southern Gas Corridor, TANAP is considered an indispensable infrastructure project for ensuring energy security.
The TANAP project transports natural gas produced from the Shah Deniz‑2 field and other fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to Türkiye and onward to Europe. Together with the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) and the Trans‑Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), TANAP forms part of the Southern Gas Corridor. The pipeline runs through Türkiye and ends at the Turkish‑Greek border, where it connects to the TAP pipeline for further delivery of gas to Europe.
