The reconstruction process in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories is being carried out in full accordance with previously prepared plans, stated Ramil Jahangirov, Head of the Project Management Department for Liberated Territories at the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, during a session held within the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.
Jahangirov stressed the importance of conducting all infrastructure and residential construction in line with urban planning norms and standards.
“However, the main priority of every project is safety. Therefore, the system is designed so that the area is first declared safe, and only then do construction and other works begin. This process is quite complex. As highlighted in various panels and sessions throughout the week, coordination is one of the most critical factors, particularly in urban planning and mine clearance activities. To move to the next stage, it is essential to ensure the area is completely cleared of mines. Until that is achieved, continuous consultations are held to determine which areas are more heavily contaminated and which are less so,” he said.
