A delegation led by Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of the United Arab Emirates-based company “Masdar,” visited the construction site of the 445 MW “Biləsuvar” Solar Power Plant (SPP) being built in the Biləsuvar district.
The visit was attended by Faig Gurbanov, Head of the Biləsuvar District Executive Authority, Javid Abdullayev, Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy (AREA), and representatives of SOCAR.
According to information from Masdar, the delegation familiarized itself on-site with the current status of the project and received detailed information about the work carried out. It was reported that significant progress has been achieved in the construction process following the installation of the first solar panel in October 2025. During the visit, the ongoing works at the construction site were reviewed, and an exchange of views took place regarding the next stages of the project.
It should be noted that once the “Biləsuvar” Solar Power Plant is fully commissioned, it will provide clean and sustainable electricity to approximately 75,000 households. The project will also make a serious contribution to Azerbaijan’s climate commitments and renewable energy targets by preventing more than 427,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions annually.
This visit holds significant importance in terms of realizing Azerbaijan’s solar energy potential and developing cooperation with international investors.
