Hungary shows great interest in implementing joint projects in the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territories liberated from occupation and in the “green energy” sector.
According to information from the Ministry of Energy, this issue was discussed during a meeting between Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Hungary’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan, Tamás József Torma.
It was noted at the meeting that the energy sector occupies an important place in the development of Azerbaijan-Hungary relations. Azerbaijan makes a significant contribution to Hungary’s strategy of ensuring energy security and diversifying energy sources.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the cooperation in the field of gas supply, as well as with the successful activities of Hungary’s “MOL Group” and “MVM” companies in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas sector. In particular, “MVM” company’s participation in a joint venture for the “Şəfəq” solar power plant project was evaluated as a clear example of the transition of partnership between the two countries to a new stage.
During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on the prospects for realizing the “Caspian–Black Sea–Europe Green Energy Corridor,” as well as potential cooperation opportunities within the framework of the 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 4th Ministerial Meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council, both to be held in Baku in the near future.
The meeting is of significant importance in terms of further deepening strategic partnership in the energy sector between the two countries and taking joint steps in the green energy transition process.
