Starting from 2032, Italy will also have the opportunity to benefit from the green electricity exported to Europe through the “Caspian-Black Sea-Europe” Green Energy Corridor, which will be gradually put into operation.
This was announced by Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov during his speech at the 6th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy held in Baku.
The minister also noted that Italy’s “CESI SpA” company is participating as a consulting partner in the preparation of the technical-economic feasibility study for the “Caspian-Black Sea-Europe” and “Central Asia-Azerbaijan” green energy corridors.
He emphasized that Italian companies are actively involved in renewable energy projects in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories: “For example, the ‘Ansaldo Energia’ company is closely participating in the construction of substations and the restoration of energy infrastructure in the liberated areas. We believe that Azerbaijan’s green energy transition will elevate our cooperation with Italy to a new level. Azerbaijan will act not only as a supplier of traditional energy resources but also as an important partner in the green energy of the future.”
