Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimović highlighted Azerbaijan’s ambitions to lead in energy resource transportation and Montenegro’s potential to serve as a Balkan-European energy hub during a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Baku, as reported by Report.
Ibrahimović emphasized Montenegro’s strategic geographic position, which is attracting growing interest in collaboration with Azerbaijan and creating prospects for diverse joint initiatives in energy transit to Europe.
He pointed to Montenegro’s strong renewable energy potential, including over 200 sunny days annually and abundant hydropower resources.
“I am confident we can identify cooperation opportunities through the Ionian–Adriatic Pipeline, which would hold strategic value for routing energy from Azerbaijan to Western Europe,” Ibrahimović stated.
