Azerbaijan and Oman Explore Joint Ventures in Solar and Wind Equipment Manufacturing

DECEMBER 18, 2025

Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Oman’s Minister of Economy Said bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Saqri to discuss expanding bilateral energy cooperation.

Shahbazov briefed his counterpart on Azerbaijan’s longstanding oil expertise, its key role in natural gas supply for energy security, and ongoing renewable energy production and export projects. The meeting covered the electricity, fiber-optic, and hydrogen elements of the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor, as well as opportunities for data center development and green investments to power them.

The Omani side highlighted sustained investments in its oil and gas sector, emphasizing its long-term global importance. Oman is advancing liquefied natural gas (LNG) production to become a leading regional exporter. The country already operates four major industrial solar parks and aims to source 40% of its energy from renewables by 2040, alongside a goal of producing 1 million tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030.

Both ministers agreed to identify collaboration areas under existing oil and gas agreements and to evaluate prospects for joint production of solar panels and wind turbines, along with broader energy sector partnerships.
