A special event dedicated to the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor project took place at the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Berlin, co-organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Germany, the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, and the Green Energy Corridor Power Company (GECO).
Azerbaijani Ambassador Nasimi Aghayev opened the session by emphasizing the robust growth of Azerbaijani-German relations across multiple sectors, particularly in the economy. He highlighted Azerbaijan’s rising role as a regional hub, driven by its leadership in the Middle Corridor, deepening ties with Central Asia, and advancing peace efforts with Armenia — factors that create attractive opportunities for German businesses in trade, infrastructure, and logistics.
Alena Akulich, Regional Director for Eastern Europe at the Eastern Committee, outlined the organization’s cooperation with Azerbaijan and stressed priorities such as green energy, digital transformation, innovation, and institutional reforms. She noted that this year’s joint roadmap on trade, economics, and investment includes more than ten concrete projects in chemicals, healthcare, digitalization, and the green transition.
Farhad Mammadov, General Director of GECO, delivered a detailed presentation on the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor, outlining progress to date and Azerbaijan’s central role in driving the initiative forward.
Other speakers underscored Azerbaijan’s proactive adaptation to the global energy transition, pointing to the country’s substantial renewable energy potential and ambitious plans for large-scale solar and wind projects.
The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session that fostered in-depth discussion on the corridor’s strategic importance and opportunities for collaboration.
