In an interview with Uzbekistan’s National News Agency (UzA), President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev reaffirmed that green energy development and broader energy collaboration remain key pillars of bilateral relations.
“Energy cooperation, particularly the advancement of green energy, continues to be a priority area,” the President stated. He noted that SOCAR supplies petroleum products and petrochemicals to Uzbekistan and highlighted the successful joint venture “Neftegaztekhnologiya”, established in 2016 between Uzbekistan’s “Ozlitineftgaz” Institute and SOCAR’s research arm.
President Aliyev also pointed to the landmark 2024 agreements signed by Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan to integrate energy systems and accelerate renewable energy deployment. “These strategic documents open new avenues for sustainable regional development and deepen cooperation in the energy sector,” he concluded.
