Kazakhstan’s state-owned KazMunayGas (KMG) and Türkiye’s Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) are discussing potential collaboration opportunities, according to a KMG statement cited by Report.
The talks, held in Astana between KMG Chairman Askhat Khasenov and TPAO CEO Ahmet Türkoglu, focused on joint efforts in geological exploration, oil and gas production, and investment opportunities. Prior meetings introduced TPAO specialists to KMG’s promising exploration projects, and joint working groups are now assessing the geological potential of Kazakhstan’s subsoil blocks, with plans to outline concrete steps for practical cooperation.
Khasenov emphasized the value of a mutually beneficial partnership, stating, “KazMunayGas sees great potential in working with TPAO, not only in hydrocarbon exploration and production but also in sharing expertise, adopting cutting-edge technologies, and advancing sustainable solutions. This collaboration will strengthen energy security, foster international ties, and drive economic growth for both nations.”
