Renewable energy a new phase in Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan cooperation

Cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources is ushering in a new phase of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, Shahmar Hajiyev, a senior researcher at the Center for Analysis of International Relations, said.

According to Report, speaking at the event "Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan: New Perspectives for Mutually Beneficial Cooperation" in Baku, Hajiyev emphasized that this collaboration will provide an even greater impetus to the development of economic ties between the two nations.

He also highlighted the significance of the Central Asia – Azerbaijan – Europe "green" corridor project, which aims to supply "green" energy to Eastern European countries.

The two countries are also committed to boosting their mutual trade turnover to $1 billion, Hajiyev said adding that currently, Baku and Tashkent are implementing joint projects in the automotive, electrical engineering, and energy sectors.
"I am confident that the state visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan will further strengthen bilateral relations, and we will elevate our cooperation to a new level after this visit," Hajiyev added.

The event "Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan: New Perspectives for Mutually Beneficial Cooperation" was jointly organized by the Azerbaijan Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) and the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan.
