Stepan Gurzhiy now LUKOIL President’s Envoy to Azerbaijan

LUKOIL Company Management Committee has decided to appoint General Director of LUKOIL Uzbekistan Operating Company Stepan Gurzhiy as LUKOIL President’s Envoy to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, Report informs referring to the company’s press service.

Gurzhiy will be responsible for enhancing the cooperation of LUKOIL Group organizations in the aforementioned countries.

LUKOIL participates in projects in all these countries, except for Turkmenistan.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during a meeting with LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov on February 18, expressed support of the Turkmen side in the company’s intention to participate in the development of the Dostlug field, as well as readiness to consider specific investment proposals for the implementation of this project.

On January 21, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Exploration and Development of the Dostlug field in the Caspian Sea.
