Azerbaijan intends to expand cooperation with the UK in the field of renewable energy sources (RES), Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov told journalists.
He noted that Azerbaijan as a country rich in oil and gas is striving to implement energy transition.
"Today, issues such as renewable energy sources, the energy transition are very relevant, relevant laws have been adopted for this, major projects are currently being implemented. In this area, the UK is also an important partner for us. In addition, BP is our leading partner in the oil and gas sector. We want to continue our cooperation in this direction," Shahbazov said.
The minister also noted the high level of cooperation in the energy sector with the European Union.
