It is planned to implement 7 GW of renewable energy projects in Azerbaijan by 2030, an official of the Agency under the Ministry of Energy, said at the SPECA 2023 Economic Forum, themed "Turning SPECA region into a global hub" held in Baku today
He said that 2 GW of the energy obtained from those projects is intended for domestic consumption, and 4 GW is intended for transmission from the Caspian Sea to the European Union: “1 GW of energy will be directed from Azerbaijan to Türkiye and Europe.”
That Azerbaijan has declared the liberated territories a green energy zone: “Here, green technologies and energy efficiency are planned to be applied in projects, and there are goals related to the promotion of solar panels, modern parking lots, and electric cars.”
