In the total electricity production of Azerbaijan, the power produced from renewable energy sources is 1,688 MW, which is approximately 20% of the total power, Deputy Minister of Energy Samir Valiyev said today at the SPECA 2023 Economic Forum themed “Turning SPECA into a global hub” held in Baku.
He said that it is planned to increase this indicator to 30% by 2030:
“By the end of 2027, as a result of the integration of 1,870 MW of green power into the country's energy system, the share of renewable energy is expected to reach 33% of our target, i.e. from 30%. In order to achieve these goals, reforms are being carried out in the country's energy sector.”
