Türkiye hopes that the launch of a gas hub in the country will take place in 2024. Creating an electronic gas trading platform may take about a year, Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.
“We are now discussing this project with Gazprom, with our partners, namely, we want to create an electronic platform. I think this process will not take much time, maybe it will take a year to create this mechanism. In addition, we have broader perspectives and additional, far-reaching goals - we would like to create the opportunity for the participation of our Istanbul financial center in the work, we would like to develop the competencies of energy trade, as well as trade in mineral resources. In addition, we are talking about creating a gas hub. <.. .> I think we can complete this initiative by 2024,” he said.
