Azerbaijan continues work to start exporting

Azerbaijan continues to work to start exporting of "green energy" to European countries, Minister Parviz Shahbazov said at the next meeting of the commission for the implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy sources.

Reports on the work done for the current period were heard at the meeting chaired by Shahbazov.

The minister recalled that the largest solar power plant in the region, "Garadag," will be put into operation in the near future. Work continues on the development of territories liberated from occupation within the framework of the concept of "green energy zones," and regular monitoring is carried out, he said.

Shahbazov also noted that the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was declared a "green energy" zone, and spoke about the implementation of the state program for the socio-economic development of the NAR for 2023-2027, which also implies an increase in the share of renewable energy sources.

The event was attended by representatives of the ministries of energy, emergency situations, ecology and natural resources, defense, economy, finance, justice, agriculture, digital development and transport, the State Oil Company (SOCAR), Azerenergy and Azerishig OJSC, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Mine Action Agency.
