The Azerbaijani Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, and the President of the State Oil Company (SOCAR), Rovshan Najaf, met with the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, in Istanbul.
The sides discussed the development of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
Jabbarov emphasized that effective energy cooperation between the two countries, and jointly implemented projects serve regional development, stability, security, and ensure the strategic interests of Azerbaijan and Türkiye. He noted that currently energy security has become one of the main challenges in the world, and the realization of opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in this field, especially on renewable energy, is one of the important vectors in mutually beneficial cooperation.
Bayraktar said that large-scale energy projects implemented with the participation of the two countries are of particular importance in ensuring Europe's energy security, and shared his views on the development of energy partnership in accordance with new global trends.
The successful economic cooperation of the countries, and prospects of cooperation in energy and other fields were discussed at the meeting.
