SOCAR Türkiye, a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Türkiye, intends to increase electricity production at the expense of alternative energy sources, Elchin Ibadov, the acting CEO of SOCAR Türkiye, said at the press conference held on Friday.
According to him, SOCAR Türkiye currently has 17 wind turbines with a total capacity of 51 megawatts: “In the future, we intend to increase the number of these wind turbines and the wind power generation. We have already officially applied to the relevant state bodies in this regard.”
Ibadov noted that the company also pays attention to solar energy: “Solar energy panels are already being installed in subsidiary institutions and enterprises of SOCAR Türkiye. These panels meet some of the energy demands. However, these volumes are still not so large.”
