Cavusoglu: 'Türkiye has become an active player in the energy market'

MAY 09, 2023

Türkiye has become an active player in the energy market, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said in Antalya on Monday.

"The country has begun gas supplies to Europe, in particular, to the countries of Eastern and South-Eastern Europe and the Balkans," he said.

"We have doubled the volume of gas supplies through the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP), which originates in Azerbaijan," the minister said.

Cavusoglu drew attention to the fact that there are five liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing terminals in Türkiye.

"We have agreements with the United States, Oman. LNG tankers arrive in Türkiye from 15 countries, including Algeria and Nigeria. This gas is processed at the terminals and delivered to other countries through pipelines," the minister said.
