The electricity production across Azerbaijan stood at 7,756.2 million kWh in January-March 2023, showing a 551.7 million kWh or 7.7% growth compared to a year earlier.
In the first quarter of 2023, the production in the Thermal Power Stations (TPS) increased by 527.3 million kWh to 7,387.4 million kWh, in Water Power Stations (WPS) went up by 24.7 million kWh to 277.9 million kWh.
The production on other sources (Wind Power Stations – WPS, Solar Power Stations – SPS, and Solid Waste Incineration Plant) during the reporting period stood at 90.9 million kWh, down 0.3 million kWh from a year earlier.
The WPSs produced 15.5 million kWh of energy (-7.8 million kWh or 33.5%), SPSs – 13.4 million kWh (+0.9 million or 7.2%%), and Solid Waste Incineration Plant – 62 million kWh (+6.6 million kWh or 11.9%).
In the first quarter of this year, Azerenergy JSC produced 7,043.4 million kWh (6,781 million kWh in TPSs, 262.3 million kWh in WPSs), Nakhchivan AR State Energy Service – 87.3 million kWh (61.5 million kWh in HPSs, 13.6 million kWh in WPSs, and 12.2 million kWh in SPS ), Azerishiq OJSC – 11.8 million kWh in WPSs, and 613.7 million kWh in independent power plants.
In the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 31.3 million kWh of electricity and exported 1,238.9 million kWh.
