"The third stage of Azerbaijan's energy strategy is investing in renewable energy sources. We started this process a few years ago," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said during his speech on "Azerbaijan's role in ensuring energy security" at the 48th edition of the international Cernobbio Forum held in Italy, Report informs.
"We have already evaluated the potential of renewable energy fields in Azerbaijan. Thus, the energy potential of the Caspian Sea in the Azerbaijani sector alone is confirmed at 157 gigawatts," the head of state said.
