Azerbaijan and Romania discuss green energy exports

Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and his Romanian counterpart Virgil-Daniel Popescu have exchanged views on the amount of energy to be transmitted between the two countries via submarine power cables through Georgia and the Black Sea, Report informs.

The ministers met within the ministerial roundtable on "Energy Transition in Southeast Europe: Regional Cooperation for Energy Security, Diversification and Transition to Green Energy" in Sofia.

He said that given the importance of the project in terms of expanding electricity export opportunities between the region and the European market, it was agreed to hold a tripartite online working meeting between stakeholders as soon as possible to intensify discussions.

The two discussed the prospects for the production of "green energy" thanks to the huge wind resources in the Azerbaijani part of the Caspian Sea and exports to Romania.
