IEA raises forecast for oil production outside OPEC+

FEBRUARY 12, 2022

The International Energy Agency (IEA) has increased its forecast for oil production in countries outside the OPEC+ alliance for 2022, now expecting it to be at 2 million barrels per day, Report informs citing the February report of the agency.

"The expected annual growth in 2022 has been revised upward to 2 million barrels per day," the report said.

The agency assumes that the main increase in production - 60% - will come from the United States, about 20% more - from Canada and Guyana.

IEA analysts note that production from non-OPEC+ countries rose by 410,000 barrels per day in January after a "disappointing" December due to problems with production in Ecuador, Brazil, and China.

“The volumes at the level of 47.2mb/d from non-OPEC+ countries are beginning to rise steadily towards a projected 2022 level of 48.9mb/d, up 2.1mb/d in December 2021," the report says.
