In 2021, electricity production in Azerbaijan amounted to 27,856 million kWh, increasing by 7.9% compared to the same period last year, Report informs, with reference to the Ministry of Energy.
December’s production stood at 2,591.2 million kWh, up 8.4% from the previous year.
In the reporting period, the electricity production by Azerenergy OJSC made up 25,104,100,000 kWh. Independent power plants produced 2,300.9 million kWh, Nakhchivan AR State Energy Service – 451 million kWh.
As for other sources, the production at thermal power plants made up 26,238.8 million kWh. At the same time, the hydropower plants generated 1,277.3 million kWh of electricity, wind power plants – 91.5 million kWh, solar power plants – 55.2 million kWh, Baku Solid Waste Incineration Plant of Tamiz Shahar (Clean City) OJSC under the Ministry of Economy – 193.2 million kWh.
